[WIP] HG Perfect Strike Gundam Part 3

Detailing continues at the aile pack, launcher and sword attachments.
Rough snapfit to see how everything goes together.

Starting with the aile pack. Rescribing of the seamline into a panel line which allows easy separation of parts for painting. Also did some pla-plating on the surface.
Scribing of new panel lines according to the RG design.

Same treatment given to the launcher parts.

The sword attachment on the shoulder is quite tricky as it is made from just 2 pieces and the seamline run right in the middle, meaning that once you cement it, it can't be removed in future.
At first, I sawed off the "triangular" part and though of attaching it back using either a pin or a magnet. But then I figured out that this part can be made easily from some pla plates.

Lastly, the energy pack at the back. Stuck some pla plates together. Quite happy with the outcome.
And, primed to check overall appearance and for errors.

[WIP] HG Perfect Strike Gundam Part 2

The Aile Strike looks good as it is but it was rather lacking in details.
Adding in of more details starting from the torso region using pla plates, pla stripes and scribing of new panel lines.

For scribing of lines, I used a 0.15mm chisel and a 0.3mm chisel. No specific rule as to which size I used for which parts, went with my gut feeling on it.
I found it easier to prime the part first, then draw out the line on the part using a pencil as pencil seems to stay better on primer than on bare plastic. The lines are then scribed using a chisel guided by dymo tape.

[WIP] HG Perfect Strike Gundam Part 1

An initial build to try out new techniques, turned out to be my entry for GBWC Singapore 2015.
Doing a Perfect Strike Gundam using the base kit from HGCE Aile Strike with the weapons attachment from HG Perfect Strike Gundam.

The HG Perfect Strike used the old mold of HG Strike Gundam, proportions was way off and there weren't much color separation for the parts, although it was the only kit that provides the sword, launcher and the energy pack.
HGCE Aile Strike came with a new mold, better proportions, better posability, and great color separation for the parts, looking more sleek than its stubby counterpart.

Beginning with the base aile strike kit, it was a relatively straightforward snapfit, nothing too complicated for this scale. Ball joints at the waist and shoulders allowed more articulation.
